    Description

Meito China, the mother company for Norleans china, was founded in 1908 and is best known for fine porcelain china in four distinct patterns, one of which is the Orleans noted to be more modern and untraditional as the other three. The Norleans line was made as a variant pattern of the Orleans with illustrations meant to meet the traditions of the East and the West, with many patterns having an Asian-oriental appeal. The fine horse illustrated on this ashtray artistically shows this Asian influence with the light brushstroke and rounded lines, beautifully positioned on white porcelain with gilded trim. Excellent condition, made in Japan, circa 1950s. Measures 9x9x1 inches.
